Forty5 / Resurgence / Issue 6

aim.
Forty5 magazine issue 6 is a 76 page publication embodying the theme of "resurgence": an increase or revival, between innovation and tradition, renewal, recovery. An obvious choice for the publication’s comeback to Paris and a brand new team running it. Our goal is to prioritise diversity among the university’s programs and creative identities while maintaining a clear artistic direction and cohesivity. The publication involves fashion, art, lifestyle, and technology touching upon topics of heritage, archives, the analog, and nature. Our subjects offer their perspectives, works, and experiences with confidence and passion. This isn’t just a magazine for Parsons Paris students but for anyone looking to be inspired by a new generation of creatives.

Editorial Shoot

aim.
With Resurgence, we inspect our views of the past and present. Keeping traditions alive while altering and sometimes disrupting them with our practices.
The Paris we use as our playground is away from the tourists and Eiffel Tower lights. We lay in the cracks of cobblestones near Canal Saint-Martin and attract confused looks when we display our creativity outdoors. Our appearance seems ordinary until they notice we are dressed to undress, displaying our tattoos and clown-like makeup. We might scare them off -- that’s okay. Recovering from judgment, we grow and evolve further. We revive in differences, taking inspiration from the artists and designers who came before us.
